I’ve been a dad for two weeks now and people have been asking me how it is going. I could never really figure out what to say but now I get it. Being a parent is just like being in the hatch on Lost*. Every 108 minutes, your kid needs you. What you do with your remaining time in between those 108 minute intervals becomes this struggle of What’s More Important. Need to go to the store but your kid will only be asleep for another 45 minutes? What do you do? Shoot the hostage. You end up trying to decide if your body wash is actually worth it or if you should just shower with shampoo again. What I’m trying to say is being a dad is awesome but please don’t smell me. I have somewhere to be in 28 minutes. *Disclaimer: I never actually finished Lost. I watched the first season and gave up. Didn’t they finally figure out that there was a resort on the other side of the island and the Beach Boys played a concert? I may be getting that confused with an episode of Full House. Zoom
